What will the water level be like in the river in late August? Is it still good rafting conditions? And, how far is the starting point from Calgary?

Hello

Thanks for your interest in Hydra. The river base is about 2.5- 3 hours drive from Calgary.

We raft until mid September but as it's a glacier fed river the water levels drop as the season progresses. It is still a really great tour in August but the water is lower than earlier in the season.

I hope that helps and let us know if you have any further questions

Thanks

Google Maps says that from the center of Calgary to the Hydra River Guides location is 239km and takes 2 hours 25 minutes with no traffic.

I would contact the service provider direct if you are concerned about the water levels.. We were told that it can be closed at certain times of the year due to weather conditions..

We drove from Banff and it was about an hour or so, so the drive from Calgary will be longer.
