Was it possible to book the helicopter flight during the tour?
Yes. This appears to a mandatory stop on the tour. We decided to take the helicopter tour after debating for about five minutes while were inside the hanger. The magic number for us was 6 people. That was how many people we needed to secure a cheaper price. I traveled with a group of 12. Six of us decided to take the helicopter tour. It appeared that 10 other people also were going to take the tour. Those who opted not to take the tour would be driven to a farm of some sort and then would return to the hanger. Unfortunately, no one was able to view Niagara from the helicopter due, to cloudy conditions. Very disappointing. So just be mindful that even though the weather may not call for rain, clouds can disrupt your opportunity to view the falls.
TriniCapa, one of the stops from the Tour was actually a little airport where people can actually take the opportunity to take the helicopter tour. I did take the opportunity to do it. I would suggest you 'recruit' additional people on the way there, as the more people decide to go for the helicopter ride, the cheaper the ride gets. The helicopter sits 4 people, they have a few helicopters available, the bigger the group, the better the rates. Helicopter ride is about 20 minutes. Those who do not take the helicopter ride, the bus takes them nearby (to wait for the chopper riders) to a canal in the lake used to transport vessels from lake to lake. (like the Panama canal). Then they go back to the little airport to pick up the riders and continue the tour.
yes my brothers booked it the day of when we got to the airport itself it's a stop they always make.
Yes they stopped at the Niagara Falls airport along the way and asked then who would like to do the helicopter ride. The price depends on how many are interested. We were so happy that we did it. It was fantastic and quite reasonably priced.
Both of the above answers are accurate.
