Ghost Tours of Quebec / Les Visites Fantomes de Quebec Questions & Answers

Cuero, Texas

My wife and I will be arriving in Quebec City on 10/25/17 at 1pm, and leaving the next day 10/26/17 at 10pm. We are interested in signing up for the "Ghost Tours of Quebec" on 10/25 at 8pm. Will be arriving on the NCL Gem, and was wondering if the pier we dock at is close to your meeting place, where your tour starts? Will the tour be in English? What is the approximate distance we will be walking? Do you know if any other cruise ships will also be at the port then? Thanks for your help! Morris

Hello Morris and MickyMike!

Thank you so much for inquiring about our tour!

We have an English public tour that departs every night at 8:00 from the park across the street from 94, rue du Petit Champlain. (Our UpperTown tour is only offered in French for the time being.) We ask that everyone be on site at least 10 minutes prior to departure. Our walking tour lasts 90 minutes. We begin in the LowerTown and finish in the UpperTown (not far from the Château Frontenac). Our route is around 2-2.5 km long and we do climb a hill. Comfortable footwear is strongly recommended.

There is a good chance that there will be a private tour catered for passengers of your ship, where a top-hatted guide will pick you up at the terminal and return you to the terminal after the tour. Please enquire with the activity coordinator of your ship for more information. Otherwise, you're welcome to join our public tour at 8pm. Safe travels!

Good day to you! Sorry I did not get the notification earlier. Alright. Can't remember exactly where NCL docks. If in the Bassin Louise area, I would think you'll have to walk about 15-20 minutes. If the ship docks closer to Dalhousie--10 minutes. I don't work for Ghost Tours but have sent an email to Jessi, the owner. As soon as she gets back to me with details (tour schedule and others), I'll give you the details. Have also asked her if I could give you her email address--there again, as soon as she confirms, I'll forward the info. Ghost Tours usually runs on a daily basis (or almost) until October 31. They do have 2 departing points: the one I usually take is around 94, rue Petit-Champlain, more or less in front of the ferry, if you want to locate on a map.

The second one is the upper section of Old Québec, not too far from the first gathering point but.... If walking is challenging for you, you may have to take a cab to get to this second point as it is at the top of Côte de la Montagne, a fairly steep hill in the area. So as soon as I hear from Jessi, I'll put you in touch with her or will share the information she'll have for me.

As for your question concerning other ships visiting at the same time, I invite you to visit the Port of Québec website. As of today, a few ships will arrive between the 24 and the 26. I wanted to include a link but they won't let me insert it.

Hope this helps a bit and I certainly hope you'll enjoy Québec. The cruise terminal is right next the main attractions and what defines the Old Town: Petit Champlain, Place Royale, Dufferin Terrace and Governors' Promenade (see my other review), Château Frontenac (to name a few) and loaded with restaurants, bars and bistros. Just note that within a 20-minute drive, you'll get to the Montmorency Falls, the Côte de Beaupré (Ste-Anne Basilica--shrine) and the Island of Orleans.
