Which are the best months for having chances of seeing the Northern Lights in Yukon?
Hi Dan, There is nothing like the best time for aurora viewing, because all depends on solar activities and the aurora performances have nothing to do with temperatures or seasons on earth. If you are flexible in your time of travel, you might want to avoid a full moon phase, because the moonlight can take away some of the weaker aurora displays. The time period between 7 days before and after a new moon is considered ideal. Our aurora viewing season stretches from the end of August till mid April. Please let us know if you should have any further questions. Thank you!
Hi Dan, the season goes from August to April. In the summer the sky is very clear and there's no chance to see them. I went in winter; however, probably autumn would be a good time since it is less cold. Nonetheless, in winter there are great activities to do in Whitehorse (snowmobiling or dog sledding).
All the Best!
I think September to March, I will recommend November .. because is not to cold yet
They told us 7 days before and after a new moon is ideal. I believe between December and March is also ideal
