New Years Eve was but I cannot comment on other days
The dining area is quite big and it's also partially divided. You should ask for a table away from the bar and you should be fine.
This is not a place that you can guarantee that it will be quite. Evans is a place to try if you want a quiet dinner.
We sat upstairs, as we were celebrating a birthday, next to the deck. It was quiet up there, only one other couple in that area, with a great view of the lake. It was fairly busy in the lower area of the restaurant, but I don't recall it being excessively loud. We went around 5 pm. The food was great and the ambiance was wonderful.
I would not put this in the intimate category, at all. So yes ,it was very loud the night we were there.
Saw the Gar Woods comment and totally agree. It is one of our favorite stops around the lake. We love the deck at Gar Woods, but that is a busy deck, so a bit noisy. Menu at the two are essentially the same. Fun settings both.
The bar is large and has nice views of the lake - and a fireplace section. Not noisy at all. We always eat lunch in there vs. restaurant. Nice ambiance.
I did not think that the bar was noisy,I have eaten there several times in the last few years.
We ate out on the deck so it wasn't loud at all. We walked through the inside in order to get to the back deck and I don't remember it being loud. Bon appetit!
Not noisy. Not a party crowd. More vacay relaxation type atmosphere
The bar is separated from the dining room. The bar can be energetic however the dining area is great. Depending on the time of year. we prefer outside dining on their deck on the lake.
P.S. If you are planning on Tahoe, Rivas sister restaurant on the north shore called Gar Woods is awesome. We always cap our vacation with dinner at Gar Woods!
