I would say you need to check with the ferry company and the Mersey authorities, but start with the ferry company they might be able to arrange everything if its possible. They all seem so helpful.

There is a posting on TripAdvisor from September 2015 saying they had scattered ashes from the Mersey Ferry. However, they did it with the cooperation of the Ferry administrators who were very helpful. So, I would suggest contacting Mersey Ferries to make arrangements

I'm sure I have read somewhere that this is allowed. however I think it would be best to check with the company first.. I understand you can buy a special water urn which is bio degradable and saves any embarrassing moments with your loved ones ashes.. I hope this helps and that it goes well for you and your family

If you don't ask permission no one will know what you have done, Standing with the wind behind you would be a smart move or you and half the other passengers could be wearing your dear departed.
