Hi, parking is not easy around the Botanic Gardens. You can park in Byres Road, if you are lucky enough to find a space. Some of the streets off Byres Road have parking meters which sometimes are quiet and very busy at other times.
Waitrose at the top of Byres Road, near Botanic Gardens has a parking area above the shop. Normally you can get parked there but only for a limited time. Not sure how long, perhaps an hour or two. The lift from the carpark takes you down into the shop, you can then get out of the shop into Byres Road.
In general, I can usually find a suitabke space but sometimes hou have to drive around to get one. However, Botanic Gardens and Byres Road are worth the trouble of parking.
Thank you for all the advice given. Appreciate them all.
I'd definitely recommend getting the underground to the botanical gardens as parking can be tricky. Some side streets do have parking available, but the availability can be a bit hit or a miss!
No not really. Better getting underground.
There are several side streets I suggest you park in one as the main car park is payable
If I were you I'd skip the car in Glasgow and wait to pick one up when you head into the Highlands. Plenty of good ways to get around in Glasgow and I think a car would just slow you down.
Try parking off Kirklee Road at the Kirklee Gate - both areas are unmetered.Arriving at Hillhead Underground is a good option or the number 6 bus along Great Western Road from the city centre. Both these public transport options run Several each hour.Have a great outing. Robert
Yes there is parking around the Botanic Gardens but it is not always easy to find a spot and many of the streets around are 'permit' parking for residents. You can always try for a spot on Byres Road but again they are limited. There is a paid parking lot off Byres Road behind Ashton Lane which may be easier with just a very short walk up Byres Road to the Botanic Gardens. Hope this helps :-)
Yes, I agree with the answer before - Parking will be busy and expensive - but there's a carpark at LIlybank Gardens thats very hand for Byres Road and along to the Botanics. But public transport also feeds it very well. Good luck and happy travels!
Hi. Parking is quite limited. If staying in city centre, you can take the underground train straight to Botanic Gardens and get off at Hillhead. If driving, perhaps go quite early. Hope this is of help. Enjoy x
