St. Mark's Square Questions & Answers

We will be traveling with a

one-and-a-half-year-old infant. Does anyone know if baby carriers are allowed (the kind you strap on your back and put the infant in) at St Mark's Basilica and Doges Palace?. I cannot find the information on their website.

(It won't allow me to paste a picture to show you here....but it's called a Deuter Kids Comfort Air Child Carrier)

Thank you!!

I would suggest you contact The Venice Information Centre, you may have to google to find the site, the baby carrier should not be considered a bag, it is a child carrier, I hope you are successful, and happy holiday.

Hi, I did not see any parents with baby carriers, they were carrying their children in their arms, but you should still check before you go in if it is allowed. Hope you have a good time.

I am sorry but, you cannot go inside with this baby carrier on Basílica or Dodge Palace or any other museum in Venice for security reasons .Even in vaporetto you will have some problems, because they don't alow the use of "backpacks" you will have do keep the Baby Carrier in front of you or go inside where are a place for Baby carriers.

They don't allow anything larger than a small purse, but there is a free check room where you can leave your bags in a locker. I would check directly with your tour operator, as they do this daily.
