Hotel Avenida Palace Questions & Answers

Atlanta, Georgia

Hello! I am booked for two nights coming up November 29-30. I only have four days and nights total in Portugal and was considering traveling to Evora for one night after my two night stay at your property. It appears the train to Sintra is close by so it may be convenient as well for one day? That only leaves one full day and an afternoon for touring Lisbon however. Should I cancel Evora and try to visit there next time? I understand the train is nearly two hours. If it is close to the hotel I could also consider just a day trip there and back and extending my stay at your property another night. Thank you for any recommendations.

Hello, thank you very much for choosing us. Although Évora is a very nice city we normally suggest a stop by on the way to another destination, not an exclusive visit if you have much time it is better to spend it in Lisbon. In regards to Sintra, yes the train station is right next door and the trains take about 40 min to get there, the visit should take one day. Neither way we suggest to visit our Concierge Desk upon arrival and discuss with our team all the options. Best regards

Not been to Evora, but with such a short time, I would stick to Lisbon and Sintra. Sintra is easy and only about 35 minutes, I believe. Why waste five hours or so sitting on a train visiting Evora? Lots to see in Lisbon, lovely to wander about, but the pavements are uneven and a bit slippery when wet. Take good shoes!

We returned recently from four nights in Lisbon and took the train to Sintra for a day. It is very convenient....about 40 minutes. We hired a guide from Wonder Vans who met us at the station. Sintra is quite hilly and Manuel drove us around and made sure we had a wonderful day. My husband and I enjoyed our day in Sintra!

We also took a full day trip to Fatima, Nazaré, Obsidian, and Batalha. We hired a guide to drive us and had a fabulous day.
