We will be staying in Portugal for over two weeks so I am thinking about renting a car at the airport prior to our stay if the parking is free or we may choose to take public transportation from the airport if there is a charge for the parking. Is the parking free, and what is the best means of public transportation from the airport to Castelo de Santa Catarina and back to the airport after our stay?
The parking at the hotel is free and the drive is not difficult.
You don't need a car in Porto, so it's better to take a cab or transit from the airport to the hotel. We did have a car and our GPS got us there easily from the highway, but we parked the car and didn't move it for the five days we were in Porto. I don't think we paid for parking, but I think it might be 10 euros a day. It's easy to take trains to places nearby if you want to visit Braga, etc. If you do park the car at the hotel, security is on all night. There had been a car break-in the week before we were there. We loved our stay at Hotel Santa Carolina.
We did not have any problem finding the hotel
It is 10 euro for a day
If you are traveling in portugal just pay attention where you park . We had our car broke into and all our luggage was stolen in Sintra on our 3rd day of our trip
Parking is 10 Euros per day. Driving in Porto is a nightmare and finding the hotel is very difficult by car as many streets are narrow and one way which always seems to be the wrong way! Do yourself a favour and take a taxi
