Hotel Sacher Wien Questions & Answers

Would like to know what activities are available in the hotel area for a 24 yr. old. Booking for my son, and would like to suggest safe restaurants and shopping in walking distance. Thanks.

If your son stays at Hotel Sacher he is in the heart of town. Shopping all around. Classical concerts across the road. Restaurants within minutes. About 20mn walk max to one of the most popular local restaurants, Fieglmüller! And nit to worry, Vienna downtown is very safe!

Vienna is all about history, architecture, music, shopping, and joining in all kinds of conversations with the friendly people of the city. Just about anything a person would like to see or do is within a 15 minute walk of the Hotel. It is a very comfortable and embracing place for someone with a little common sense.

Boy that is a tough question for older visitors who passed their 24 year old days a few decades ago. The first issue is determining what your son's interests are. Is he in to culture like symphony music, opera or art? That seems to be the Vienna theme and there is lots to do, and much of it near the Sacher Hotel.

There are also lots of interesting restaurants in the area and several shopping streets near the Sacher. The Cafe Mozart in Albertina Square is a simple, but nice mixed age restaurant.

If your son is mainly interested in going to late night clubs, I would not have a clue. However, with nearly 2 million people, Vienna will have something for everyone. He might visit with some of the students at the University of Vienna buildings in the area and collect suggestions.

The Hofburg palace, Haus der musik, Spanische Hofreitschule and the Capucins catacumbs.

And for food, a typical austrian cafe or a good restaurant such as: Zum schwarzen kameel, Plachuta.

Dear Spikes, Vienna is a very Safe City, the Hotel is located in the first district, and just in circle of 20-1000 meters, you have all kind of restaurant from self-service to 1 Michelin star.

Shopping is just around the corner of the Hotel entrance the Kärnter Street, you don't need to go much far than 5 to 15 min. I guess the best word is strolling. kind regards Josef

The hotel is located in the city center. The state opera is right across the street. There is plenty of shopping, bars and restaurants within walking distance. There are also tours that may be arranged through the concierge or online. The hotel and the opera house are stops on most tours.
