Everyone says it is cold up there but only one person mentioned it was around 20°c. Please advise what is the coldest it can get as I am going up in late November and may even postpone to December as I plan to see tulips in one of the gardens around the same area.
I was there just last week and it was very very cold, which was mainly due to the strong cold wind, so maybe without wind it's actually okay. we wore long pants, 1 tshirt. 1 long shirt, 1 sweater and then 1 wind breaker/rain jacket and I was freezing! it was not very pleasant so rather bring more clothes than not enough. u can always take them off. other ppl on the mountain were covered in even thicker clothes.... once the sun comes out it get better
I was there in mid October and I can tell you It wasn’t 20 degree at all. Being in T-shirt was not comfortable, just bring a sweater or light jacket and you should be good!
Late-Nov, December is ok. 15-20. (use AccuWeather. quite reliable).
But in January, mornings can get quite cold. And that's because of the windchill factor. Bring a scarf and a beanie if you are sensitive to cold. A comfortable jacket helps, although you won't need ski clothings. I had a wool sweater.
You'll be leaving the base at 4am to get to the foot of Pu Chi Fa. A short 20mins climb should get you up to the scenic top. Remember to bring your camera and rechargeables if required.
If you go up at noon, the sun can beat down quite bad. So you get the wind chill, plus the sun tan. Quite fun. Bring sunglasses.
Sunsets are nice too, but you want to head down before the light goes out.
we just came from there, and I think it was maybe around 15. I was in shorts and a T-shirt but wore a sweater during the sunrise. got a bit windy
