Is it best to take euro or exchange into local currency once in Budapest?
Once you make it to your hotel I would find a nearby bank (ATM) and just withdraw Forints that way. There were a few banks within a short walking distance of this hotel. That's what I did.
Well, it works both sides, but it is much better to exchange into local currency, the rate was 36 f for one euro, I hope you will enjoy your time there.
We took euro and used our credit card. We didn't exchange any funds there so I'm not sure how easy or good rates the exchange is. Hope that helps.
Just some local currency from ATM. You can pay with cards almost everywhere. We had to spend excess forints in airport, as we used forints only if the cards were not accepted
Local currency or euro.
We were told to wait until we landed in the country, then use an ATM to withdraw money in the local currency. The exchange rate will be good and ATMs are at the airport and readily available. That worked well for us.
Definitely local currency
Hello, I suggest not to change money in the airpoirt. The change is really unfair. Most of restaurants accept € but the final price is quite higher than paying in florines. Suggest you to change mone in the city centre. The change € florine can be 1€-300Flor and is pretty good. If you change pounds I don't know which is the change.
