Thank you for asking. The above comments are very accurate and we share their thoughts. We would recommend a day trip to Chichicastengo on a Thursday or Sunday which is the largest Indingenous Market in Central America. We also recommend that you join us at Panza Verde in Antigua, which is a sister hotel of B'Alam Ya, for a few days as there are many interesting things to do here. We will be happy to give you our ideas if you decide to come to Antigua. Kind regards and please let us know if we can be of further assitance.

Yes, you can see the different towns sorounging the lake. Some are accessible by boat, all have their own textiles that they specialize in. Also plenty of hiking, zip lining, natural hot springs in certain areas of the lake. 3 or 4 days would give you plenty of time to explore. Enjoy!

My boyfriend and I (both in our mid 20's) were there for 4 nights as well in the Jade Cottage. I can't remember her name, but the woman at the front desk was great at arranging tours to the local villages via water taxi. She also arranged for a tuk tuk when we wanted to go into town for a meal. To be honest- some of the village tours were not as appealing to us. We were constantly being heckled at to buy local merchants goods. The property is amazing to stay at though.

However, I would like to make a suggestion. My bf and I also stayed in Antigua for 4 nights and hindsight 20/20 I wish we had stayed there longer. We hiked Pacaya and really wished we spent the time hiking Acetenango (active volcano.) I also thought the local restaurants were American 5 star worthy.
