Riad Idra Questions & Answers

Fremont, California

How is the riad about accommodating vegetarians for breakfast? Dairy products & honey are fine, so we are not pure vegans. We do not eat eggs, meat, chicken, poultry, beef, pork, fish, or seafood.

Dear Sir, Dear Madam,

We can easily prepare vegetarian breakfast for you. Indeed, you will have fruits smoothies, fresh orange juice, fruit salad, homemade yogourt, Moroccan pancakes, cake, croissants, butter, homemade jam, and typical broadbeen soup or barley soup.... Please just let me know before your arrival.

Kind regards,

karine

You will find a ton of fruits and vegetables are available in Marrakech, so if you don't eat meat, you won't go hungry. However, yogurt, cheese and dairy products are also a big part of Moroccans' diets. I am not certain if any of the soups or sauces use animal based broths, however. The Riad Idra's menu options are amazing, so you won't have difficulty eating well while not having meat. If you are a pure vegan, though, you should contact Karinne directly at the hotel to arrange special meals. She is wonderful!

My wife and I are both vegetarian - her with some quite complex dietary requirements. Nothing was a problem and we were accommodated without hesitation.

We were there for six days and no meat was served with breakfasts with eggs only offered on one day. The staff were excellent and I am sure they would have no problems with offering you an alternative. My wife and I have been travelling overseas and this would be one of the best places we have stayed at.

My wife is vegetarian, although she will eat eggs, and she found the breakfast at Riad Idra to be perfect for her needs. Eggs aside Chef Abdel can easily cater for your vegetarian needs and breakfast might include yoghurt, vegetables, beans & lentils, amazing locally prepared bread, potato patties, cheese, honey and so on. I am sure you will enjoy! Safe travels.
