Riad Aguerzame Questions & Answers

Middletown, New Jersey

Hello,

My husband and I will be in Madrid Spain in February and would like to visit Morocco. I saw some very good review on Trip Advisor for this hotel. We will only be able to be in Morocco for 3 days and I have been doing a lot of research of what we would like to see.

Tangier

Chefchaouen

Fes

Marrakesh (Hoping a camel trek)

I know its a lot but I don't know if I will ever make it back to Morocco. We are trying to decide if this hotel would be a good central point. Also what airport would we fly into to stay here?

Thank you,

Diane McCool

It is a b&b not hotel. It is wonderful if you are looking for a true Moroccon experience. Walking distance to center. They will make arrangements for the camel ride and the driver will pick you up. If you stay in a regular hotel you will take a cab to all the attractions in the older part of town.

I agree that I would spend time in Marrakech and if you want a truly authentic experience of the life and culture then you should stay at this Riad. Aziz and the rest of the staff are so helpful and welcoming and it's very clean and peaceful. Lovely breakfasts too. Definitely recommend having them pick you up at airport in Marrakech and also have their dinner your first night because it's very good. Just walking around the city and experiencing the souks and trying not to get lost or run over is very fun and quite the adventure!

That's a lot to squeeze into 3 days - those cities are far apart and several hours travelling time. Tangier is a port city and I didn't find it particularly interesting. I would focus on Marrakesh - you will get the full flavour of Morocco in Marrakesh - and definitely stay at the Riad Aguerzame. It's a serenely peaceful B&B and Aziz is an awesome professional. And, best of all, the Riad is a few minutes walking distance to the madness and excitement of the Medina.

Hello, we flew into Madrid, spent the day in the city then flew into Marrakesh for 3 nights in Marrakesh in this riad. We did a half-day camel ride arranged by Aziz at the riad - it was something to do, and we're glad we did it,,, but really an hour would have been enough. We spent two whole days wandering the old city and shopping in souk with our teenaged sons. There are some gardens nearby and a museum. Your multi-city plan sounds pretty ambitious to me, and in our research we learned that the real highlights for a short stay in Morocco are in Marrakesh. Have a great time!
