Hi David...so for a lengthy layover flying from Europe to Australia can you utilise this hotel? I'm not really sure if you have to go out thru immigration etc and then re-check back in as opposed to a transit hotel which I think are within the airport itself? Hope you can help :)
Yes, you do have to clear immigration/customs, since the Suvarnabhumi Suite is off airport property. Contingent upon the room size you book, round-trip shuttle service is free (but available to all rooms, at a modest charge). I've been staying at the SS for years in between connecting flights. Very good, very comfortable, pleasant/efficient staff - and nice buffet b'fast in the rooftop restaurant. Refrig./complimentary bottled water/mini-bar in rooms.
I usually book thru Agoda, then follow-up directly w/the hotel nearer my arrival date, to advise them re: flight arrival time, so that I have the shuttle service waiting.
Yes, you have to clear immigration to stay here. I've never stayed at an in-airpot transit hotel but I have seen them advertised at Suvarnabhumi Airport, albeit quite pricey for what you get.
Going through immigration isn" t usually too painful and costs nothing so if your layover is more than six hours I would definitely stay somewhere other than in the airport. Rgds David
