Hotel Altiplanico Bellas Artes Questions & Answers

Denver, Colorado

Hi,

My wife and I will travel to Santiago in mid January 2017. We booked 3 nights in Hotel Altiplanico Bellas Artes. Could you share information about how to get to the hotel from (SCL) Arturo Merino Benitez Airport? Any public transportation available? If we take taxi, what is approximated fare? Thank you?

Good Day Clairton, just opposite the duty free, just before you collect your luggage there is a money changer and a transport company that sell taxi coupons. You can book your ride to the hotel from them which cost about 22,000 pesos. problem with this is when you come out of the airport, every man and his dog is trying to snatch the coupon off you, so you have to be very careful who you give the coupon to. Alternatively you can ask the hotel to arrange the transfer for you which cost 20,000 pesos. They will have someone with your name standing outside to meet you like any other airport. Have a fun, enjoyable and safe travel.

Hi, we took a taxi for the equivalent of $29. The shared minibus fare for the two of us would have been $6 less. I thought the difference was worth the convenience and speed.

Before you exit customs there are counters . First we went to Cambio and we changed dollars to pesos. Next to it is the transportation desk. We pre paid for the taxi and exited with the receipt to the taxis. Much easier than I expected. Enjoy, this is such a beautiful country.

Mate, call/ email the hotel and get them to arrange a driver. Seriously, it will cost you a few USD more but the driver will be excellent, on time and know exactly where the hotel is. Don't take public transport.
