We would like to visit from Iquitos but do not want to spend 7 hours. If we rent a small private boat, can a visit be done in four hours?
Any names of operators? Expected costs? Thanks
hello you can rent a speddy boat with this you can arrive there in 1 hour and 30 minuts more less, the price i don't know because we took a slowly boat and the price was 150 soles.
Heidi H's response was good. You can show up there any time - they will be glad to see you. I would just add that you should contact the Monkey Island office and ask them about renting a boat and operator. I volunteered on the island for a week so I used the transportation the island provided or I would give you more information.
Definitely do not hire a boat. There are three different rivers that converge in the area and you have lots of boat traffic close to the city. Plus many local boat are not well maintained. Sit back and enjoy the hoiday, get someone else to do the work.
I suppose you can do this. The way from Iquitos to the Monkey Island takes approximately an hour, so two hours for the way and one hour will be enough for visiting the Island. You can give a call to the office of the owners this Island and ask them about a private tour. The office number is (51 – 65) 235887 or you can write them by fasebook. I don't advise you to hire any boat because it might be even dangerous - some of the local boats are really old and not safety at all.
You have to be clear is that to get to the island go on the boat sailing the Amazon River. That takes a while . I suggest you take the full day tour , you will not regret it includes many points. Approximately from 8:00 am to pick you up from your hotel until 5:00 pm . Costs for private tour do not know, you have to go to find agencies that are in the main square and ask for discounts because sometimes they charge a lot. The tour I tell you , that is the full day , costs about S / 70 ( $ 22) and includes the island of monkeys, the bora Indiana, Fundo Pedrito... and other places I have left the mind in this moment. But it was a good ride.
Yes, you can. There are plenty of operators there, but we too went with Explorama.
Visitng Ia isla de los monos can be done in that amount of time. A guide from the Monkey Island sanctuary will show you around the area. With travel time and an hour or so at the place, longer if you want to interact more. Should be long enough time.
This rescue center charges US$ 6.50 (S/.21.8) (with these funds targeted to the treatment and care of the animals)
The entry fee entitles you to stay for 1.5 – 2 hours at the island. Check out this website it will give you more details on how to get there and contact information from their website this site won't allow websites so just google la isla de los monos peru
or (same for this one too)
iquitos guide listings/monkey-island-iquitos and it too is a com.
I visited as part of Explorama lodge/IE Amazon Riverboat at the beginning of June, I had a great time.
