We are Debbie & Ken (Breeze) aboard Blue Sky here in the San Blas islands. Thank you for your inquiry regarding a sailing trip.

Blue Sky is a very large custom built boat, 52 ft. length, and 16 1/2 ft. beam (width). Due to the boat size and width, much like a catamaran, she is very stable and does NOT heel (tip) over when sailing! This makes a very good alternate to the expense of chartering a catamaran!

It looks like you are interested in sailing Aug. 1st - 4th. We are booked July 31st - Aug. 4th. Would it be possible for you to come before or after our other booking?.

Our sailing trips include three delicious meals a day with, coffee, tea, and chilled purified water. We offer a soda, juice, or beer with meals. You should plan on bringing your own personal snacks, sweets. You are welcome to bring your own favorite bottles of wine or alcoholic spirits.

We also include the use of our snorkeling and fishing gear, and (2) one-person kayaks. We enjoy snorkeling and our very informative personally guided underwater tours are all part of the adventure!

We can arrange waterfall trips with one of our Kuna friends. The trips take about 4 & 1/2 hours. Lisa, our Kuna guide picks up guests from our boat anchored off of Isla Sarladup in her motorized launcha. Lisa speaks Spanish and some English. She is very good about explaining things about the Kuna culture.

It's a 20 min. boat ride to the mainland, then a bit of a ride up the river. After that, you hike up the mountain past a large Kuna cemetery then on to the waterfalls. Coming down the mountain is a combination of swimming and hiking thru the river!

I always ask our guests that do these trips their opinion what they consider the level of difficulty. With 1 being the easiest and 10 being the most difficult, it seems to run about a level 4. You must be in good physical shape and be able to swim.

*These trips are "weather permitting only". Costs for this amazing trip is $25 to $30 per person. However the guide wants a minimum of $120 to make the trip so we would need to get a couple more people from other boats to keep the cost down.

A boxed lunch is included. 100% of the proceeds of this trip go to the Guna guide and the community island of Rio Sidera.

For sleeping arrangements:

*Choose your stateroom, choose your rate!

Private stateroom with Queen size bed and shared bath forward and butterfly opening hatch overhead and fan *rate per person per day based on double occupancy $170.

Private stateroom with King size bed and private bath in suite aft and stained glass opening hatch overhead with fans *rate per person per day based on double occupancy $195.

There are no marinas in the San Blas. Travel to and from where our boat will be anchored in the San Blas is by a combination SUV 4X4 and launcha boat.

*We always recommend one of our very popular "one-way" trips! You can take a launcha boat from the Carti coast to Corazan de Jesus where our boat will be anchored. We then sail about 25 miles island hopping thru the island chain and eventually end up at the Salardup anchorage where you will take a launcha boat back to the Carti coast. From the Carti coast you will take a SUV back to Panama City.

***Of course depending on which end of the island chain we are at, we reverse the trip! The trip works out the same wether we go from east to west, or west to east.***

Transportation and costs are as follows:

The cost of the SUV is $25 per person price for a shared SUV. The driver will pick you up from the lobby of your hotel between 5 and 6 am. The driver will also be picking up other passengers so you could be the first ones to be picked up, or the last.

Once the driver has picked everyone up, he will then drive you thru the mountainous rain forest to the Carti coast in the San Blas islands. There you will be met by a motorized launcha boat. The launcha boat driver will take you to where our boat will be anchored.

If you use the shared SUV's the cost is $25 SUV, $25 launcha boat, $2 dock usage fee, ***per-person one-way***. There is also a $20 Guna Yala park entrance fee.

$50 From your hotel to our boat

$ 4 Dock usage fee

$50 From our boat to your hotel

$20 Guna Yala Park fee

$124 round trip per person

Guests usually ask what time they will be back to Panama city on the day of their return. Normally, you should be back to the city between 12 noon and 1:00.

*There are several SUV and launcha services available. Please note, while we are happy to recommend a SUV or launcha boat service, and make reservations for you, these services hire their own drivers. We are not affiliated with the service. Payment is in cash directly to the person providing the service.

Here is some important info regarding a Panamanian passport law.

In order to enter Panama, your passport must be valid for more than 180 days past your entry date.

You may want to check your passports expiration dates. We just had a family that couldn't board their plane to come to Panama because the father's passport didn't have the 180 days required remaining on his passport.
