Please could you advise if malaria tablets are recommended for the area your lodge (and drives) are situated if we were to visit in June 2017.

Kind regards, Lorella

We did not take malaria tablets for this area. We used sprays to protect ourselves. The best sprays are the ones containing a very high Deet content. We would spray the room and also ourselves. Non of us were bitten once. Hope this helps.

We didn't come upon any mosquitos when we stayed in July this year - however - we would always advise taking them just in case (as we did). It's too late after the event!

You didn't need them when we visited in July / August and we didn't get bitten at all. We had bought them in advance so took them anyway just incase.

Hi Lorella,

we were there end of July and the last 2,5 years, it has been extremely dry so most of the rivers were dry which also means no mosquito's. Hopefully next July (2017) there will be rain again and by then it is advisable to take the malaria tablets. As stated before, you can also choose to use sprays with high DEET content to protect yourself...
