Hi, I am thinking of booking a trip for my dad and myself. He is 87 and in fairly good health, would this trip be okay for him?
Thank you everyone for taking the time to answer. I really appreciate it!
No. I think the older people are, the more pain they have. I just lost my father at 85 years of age and he would have had so much pain that the rest of our vacation would have been spent in the hospital with him. Too rough going over rocks and rough terrain. Take him to a nice dinner or shopping or for a Jeep ride from the paved roads to take in the sights. Enjoy!
It is very bumpy, but I would think if he sat in the front seat, it would be ok.
I would check with the company when you book it though.
Agreed it's fun but a rough ride check with the jeep company directly.
If your dad is physically well without arthritis or physical ailments, he might be fine with the ride. I recommend calling ahead and discussing this with the owner of the company, just to be on the safe side. The drivers are very safe and their vehicles are safe and solid but the ride can be very bouncy and rough, so it's best to check with the operator directly.
I agree with others.... just give them a call. Tell them your situation. They are so accommodating! They suggested the "easy on the as...." tour and it was all on paved roads. Our driver was very aware of our interests and capabilities and adjusted the tour accordingly. It was perfect. Go for it....
It's really a rough ride. Very hard on the body.
They have many tours, so I'd call them - they are very nice & very helpful. The "easy on the asphalt" tour is probably best for someone who is 87. You still see a lot of nice things, but it's not rugged and bumpy. But just talk to them - they'll definitely help you out.
Hi, This particular tour was quite bumpy and rough, so I am not sure if that is something you and your Dad would enjoy or not. Red Rock Jeep Tours did have many tour options, all that promised to show off Sedona. I would suggest calling them directly to ask which tour would be perfect for your family. Enjoy your trip!
