Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Emeryville Questions & Answers

Calgary, Alberta

We will be visiting SF for the 1st time, preferred to stay in Oakland. Can you tell me how hard it is to navigate into SF to do the normal touristy things with a rental? Is there parking available? Toll for Bridge?

Do not recommend you stay in East Bay Area much of your time will be idled away awaiting to cross the bridge, should be about $6.00 toll. Then parking is nothing short of a nightmare. Spend a couple of extra dollars stay in SanFran and enjoy your time. Go over to Fishermans Wharf area decent hotels and lots of inexpensive transportation options to maximize your time and attractions. If you rent a car for East Bay Area ask for something with a real trunk, keep your items out of sight, rental cars break-ins are at an all time high on that side. Safe travels!

I actually found the Emeryville area a pleasant place to stay. It was easy to walk around and find restaurants, and easy to catch an Uber into San Fran. Parking and driving around will be a nightmare, so if Uber/Lyft are an option for you, I would definitely recommend.

This is a great property, with great views of the bay...

I agree with the previous post.

If you can find a deal in the city...stay in the city. Fly in and take an Uber/taxi/shuttle to your hotel. SF has excellent public transportation, you should be able to do just about everything using public transport. Don't forget to visit Coit tower at night, for excellent views of the city. If you have the time, enjoy walking around the city.
