With numerous great hiking trails in the area you shouldn't have any problem enjoying the great scenery and sites around the hotel. The main street of Ojai is a gentle 1/2 mile down hill walk from the hotel, and the main commerce center stores are easily strolled on both sides of the blvd. Here you will find clothing botiques, restaurants, an ice-cream & candy shop a beautiful park and other interesting places. You must remember that Ojai is a small, laid back town that goes forward each day at their own speed, and the main goal in visiting is to slow down, relax leave the tablets and smart phones behind take a deep breath and smell the roses. Many of the best restaurants are not on the main blvd, but are within a short distance car travel from the hotel. Many of the other laid back activities, wine tasting, olive oil production and other tours bring some unusual side trips you could entertain.

The hotel can provide a list and reservations to some of the best restaurants and events in the area. Believe in their suggestions because they know of what they speek. Enjoy.........

I can not add anything new to the previous answers. It is a beautiful area with shops and restaurants and hiking trails. The Emerald Iquana offers such relaxation you may not want to go to far!

The previous postings cover it well. I would add that Ojai has many spas and spa services and is only 45 minutes to an hour from Santa Barbara. With excellent restaurants, the beach, and nearby wine country, Santa Barbara would be a pleasant day trip. However, in my two visits to Ojai, I have never felt the need to leave!

My wife walked from the Emerald Iguana Inn to town -- about a quarter mile. There are some interesting places in town, galleries, a few restaurants, a wine-tasting bar, and some shops. It doesn't take long to see the whole town. The area has some interesting places such as an olive grove (definitely a drive) with tastings and some nice hiking trails. Hope this helps.

We loved the Inn.

The Ojai Valley Trail is approx. 1/2 mile from the Inn and follows the Ventura River between Ojai and Ventura. The Shelf Road Trail and Sulphur Mountain trail are two other options.

The Inn is also within walking distance of downtown, where there are lots of little shops, some great places to eat, a museum, interesting art and architecture and a farmer's market on Sundays.
