Best Western Daytona Inn Seabreeze Questions & Answers

Oregon

Why do you allow people, other than hotel guests, to crash and use the parking and pool facilities throughout the day at will. People crash this pool in big groups, daily. As I am writing this note from my balcony , there is a group of about 10 people who are swimming in the pool who are clearly not guests at this hotel.

I also noticed another group who pulled up in the parking. Parked the car and went through the pool to access the beach. That is another group of around 8. As all the other free-loaders throughout this week, They will undoubtebly be back in the pool once they are done playing in the pool.

I stayed here 1 week so far and EVERYDAY I have witness multiple families who either park on the beach and make their way to the pool from the beach, or in many cases they are bold enough to just park on the premises and just use the pools as they wish. It is as if they know that Best Western hotel is going to do nothing to detour them from free-loading into the pool.

Dear guests

Hotel always listens to our valued guests and your feedback is very important to us. We do patrol the area on regular basis. Hotel has put signs all over to prevent any non-guests to use the facilities. We will do random checks yet please notify hotel staff of any suspicious activities so we could keep the hotel more safe and sound. Sincerely

Since you asked questions that the management needs to answer- as well as to make a serious effort to address- I will just toss in my 2 cents worth.

I am a past guest of this hotel, and I encountered similar issues. Despite the wonderful location on the beach, the hotel is in need of serious attention in almost every way. My guess: They are trying to survive on a shoestring budget and a regular small infusion of guests who get their rooms free for agreeing to watch a time share presentation by another hotel chain.

So- no daytime guard for the parking lot, although we did encounter a guard in the evening who helped us park in the lot that is too small and was already full.

There is one elderly fellow who takes care of the pool and the garbage and the parking lot policing, and he probably has several other responsibilities. He seems to be grossly overworked and in need of a staff to help him. Since the property is large, he cannot stop intruders in the parking area and in the pool at the same time.

I suspect the next time I go to Daytona, that hotel will have succumbed to the wrecking ball. Maybe the city will install a new parking lot with meters there.

Whilst I stayed there for four nights I had to display a label in my car to show I was there officially. Whether the hotel checked on this or not I wouldn't actually know. Obviously they have a method for controlling the situation.
