Is their tours operating from Atlanta? to visit this cemetery
Not to my knowledge. Marietta is quite a distance from downtown Atlanta. There may be local tours available. We live in the area and drove from Snellville. The Marietta City Cemetery, which is older than the Confederate Cemetery, is adjutant. It has a number of very interesting grave markers. The Marietta National Cemetery is just a few blocks away. I recommend that you include it in your visit, also.
Sorry I can't help you. When we went, we were not part of an organized tour although I know they have them. Not sure if the operate our of just Marietta or do they come up from Atlanta as well.
In my case, my son lives in Marietta so it was a 5 minute drive from his house but a nice walking tour. Lot of Civil War History in the area and also catch the Gone with the Wind Museum
There might be tours official, but not that I know of--You say from Atlanta, where will you be? There are many good places to eat close by if you want---Kennessaw National Battlefield and Parks are also close by for more Civil War attractions.....
The cemetery is open from sunrise to sun set daily. While you are visiting that area be sure to go to Marietta Square. It's just a few blocks north of the cemetery. Have lunch at The Local or Sugar Cakes Patisserie. You will not be disappointed!
