I have 2 grand kids ages 15 and 9. The older one is very into art but the younger one is a boy with ADD. He likes museums with hands on displays. Would this be better suited to an outing with just his older sister and find a different activity to do with him? Thanks for any advice you offer. My husband and I were at the Fuller several years ago but I only remember it as small but interesting but no details.
I think you are right that it would be a better place for his sister than for the younger one. The Children's Museum in Boston might be a better place for the younger one. There is also the Discovery Museum in Acton, MA that might be of interest to the 9 year old.
Hope this is of some help.
The Fuller doesn't have much that is hands on, but they do have programs that are hands on -- contact them and see if they have any special projects set up that would be good. They might even be willing to set up something like weaving, braiding, painting -- they have several great activity spaces there as well as a beautiful outdoor setting for exploring.
