What is the cost to enter the gardens and the house?
I have two adults and three kids, ages, 16, 14, 12.
I'm not really sure. What I did was get an annual membership at the Hancock Shaker Village which allowed free admission to the botanical gardens, the Rockwell Museum as well as the Shaker Village. I recommend you start there. They have all varieties of farm animals that your kids will probably love and then you can do some of the other stuff. I also recommend the Museum of the Berkshires if you get the family annual membership at Hancock Shaker Village....
There is one all-inclusive entrance fee for the gardens and playhouses. I just looked at their website. Prices are $15 for adults, $14 for seniors, $12 for students. Those under 12 are free. There are discount coupons on attraction cards available almost everywhere in the area.
There is a groupon available that is good until Oct that cut the cost by 37% of $39 for 4 people. Also they offer half price Tuesdays. So the normal fee of $15 is reduced to $7.50 per person on Tuesdays. Membership in reciprocal organization get free access for you and your family. If you are planning to visit many museums or attractions - like the Mount, Norman Rockwell and Berkshire Museum - membership could pay for itself. Plus it is tax deductible. We took membership to Berkshire Museum during our vacation at the Sustainer level which give free access for two adults and 4 children at these other attractions and many more in the region and across the country. Including attractions near where you live for after vacation.
