Is there much walking involved for the South Rim Tour? I do have some knee issues and can walk ok but not for long distances.

There is a fair bit of walking involved. I would say around an hour in total. It is all on the flat but might be a bit much for you. I hope this helps?

I visited last month and had a knee issue, I walked the rim walk and had no problems. we also did the helicopter trip into the canyon and boat ride, that was a little difficult as there was a lot of stairs to the boat. I f you stay up top you should be fine. Also tell the guide and they might be able to get the shuttle to drop you off closer to the attraction.

Shuttle busses will solve most of your problem. You will most likely not make the point at guano, but the view from the basic stop is excellent. Go for it!

There was quite a reasonable walk to where we had lunch but if you let your guide know you can't walk that far they will make sure you have somewhere suitable for you. We were quite a lot older than the rest of our tour members and our tour guide, Luis, was very good at making sure we were comfortable with what was happening. If you want to do the Skywalk there is very little walking required.

You walk as little or as much as you like. Even the walk around the reservation is not very far and even then it isn't mandatory.
