I'm interested in booking this camp next November. When I look it up online, it says temperatures in November are 90-105 degrees. How does it feel on the ground? Is it unbearable? Is it escape-able? Is it hard to sleep at night?
Hi Lori - November is the ‘Green Season’ is when the air is fresh and there are rains - everything comes back to life again after enduring the long hot summer. Our local Operations Director says “This is my favourite time of the year. After the arid summers I look forward to cool temperatures and everything turns green”. Usually the skies are bright and sunny in the mornings and sometimes cloud rolls in during the afternoons and there can be thunderstorms.
However, remember the weather in Africa is unpredictable these days so we can never be sure!
Hope that helps, Sanctuary Retreats
We were there 9/25-30/17 and the temperatures were perfect. It was the dry season. November is rainy. But, I can tell you that this camp exceeded anything we though possible. The staff is absolutely wonderful, the food delicious, and if I had another $30K to spend, I would book another week there. We were also at Rattays Sanctuary (9/30/-10/8) in South Africa. Most amazing trip I have ever taken. Simply spiritual. You will come back changed.
