Lyndhurst Questions & Answers

Colorado

My family and I have only a short time in Tarrytown. Can anyone please tell me which estate is the better to see for a history buff - Lyndhurst or Kykuit?

Lyndhurst has a bit more unusual story behind it and is a rare Gothic style mansion. Kykuit is more impressive and larger, and has an art collection. I think it takes longer to see Kykuit. You will not regret either one, but by a slim margin I'd choose Kykuit.

Kykuit I was throw off guard with that. I just realized it was the Rockerfella mansion. That was awesome so many rooms to go in and floors too along with gardens. In the Lyndhurst they had something going on that day so could only see the outside they were not letting anyone tour inside. But it was pretty from outside.

I love both. I would choose Kykuit. If you have little time that day, I would see Lyndhurst. Both are beautiful.
