Ecola State Park Questions & Answers

Mendota Heights, Minnesota

How likely is it that some of the damage done by storms could be repaired by mid-May? We want to drive up to Ecola Point candidate down to Indian Beach to see the views.

I was there last week & the only "damage" I saw was the road (101) was closed because of a small landslide. It was opened within the next day. I couldn't even tell where it happened. Other than that I saw no damage. It's a major attraction and by the time you are planning to go it will be pristine.

Want the straight scoop call the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce/Visitor's Bureau

at 503-436-2623. They usually have the answer's if not ask them for the right phone number to call for the latest update on when repairs will be completed.

Since it's one of Oregon's most popular state parks, I imagine it will be a priority to have most all repairs completed by Memorial Day. Oregon State Parks has website that should keep you in loop of all their parks.

When I was there in November you still could get to Indian Beach and Ecola, just not out to the lookout point at Ecola. The view from in front of the main parking lot is spectacular.
