Hi, I would like to visit the chapel soon but I still have some doubts if do it or not.so these are my questions:
1) is it possible to explore alone without a guide and any set time?
2) is it allowed to take photos?
thanks for who will reply me:)
You can come along at any time during our opening hours. We have information talks, not guided tours. If you want to listen to one, its free of charge. We do not permit photography inside the Chapel, But you can take lovely photographs outside. The whole chapel is a feast for your eyes, and we feel it is worth seeing for yourself.
The answer to 1) is yes but I recommend you to listen to one of the «talks». 2) you can take photos outside but not inside.
Yes you don’t need a guide
They will give you a leaflet with pictures of highlights of the symbols on the walls, ceiling, floor and columns
It’s fun to look at them inside the chapel
You can take pictures outside and it’s beautiful, but not inside
Absolutely you can visit alone. Be sure to take the Lothian bus #37. There is no need for a guide or a set time; however, I do recommend sitting on on a talk if one is available while you are there. Photos are NOT permitted inside the chapel; however, you may take photos outside of the chapel and the grounds. Enjoy your visit.
Yes, you can go in anytime during business hours without a guide. They do an informational talk once or twice a day, but there’s no guides. You can take photos outside the chapel and in the shop area, but photos are not allowed inside the chapel.
Hi,
Yes and no!
Yes you can tour without a guided tour, but no you are not permitted to take photos inside the chapel.
It is certainly worth the visit, the chapel is amazing and if you have the opportunity and choose not to go, you’ll regret it!
Make sure you visit with William, the resident Chapel-Cat.
