Gaia Riverlodge Questions & Answers

We are traveling to Gaia in December! Can you give me any information on immunizations we should have before we come? Is Malaria a large threat? Also, is the water purified on site or is bottled water provided? Is the fruit safe to eat? Thanks for your help!!

It is always a good idea to have your tetanus and hepatitis immunization up to date, regardless of where you travel. There is no other immunization requirement for your trip, but if you have recently been in a yellow fever area, you will have to prove that you have been vaccinated in order to enter Belize. Gaia is not in an area where Malaria is a large threat. The lodge has its own water purification system, if you prefer bottled water, it is for sale at the bar. Fruits and vegetables at the lodge are safe to eat.
