Do you recommend this for kids. I have a 4yrs old and a 9 yr old. It will be there first time. Is it usual bumpy?
Aloha Emi P!
First off it really isn't a bumpy ride at all. Many people return commenting on how smooth it is during flight. We do have many people come to fly with us with children and they do great! To address seating usually it places the smaller/lighter passengers on the outside seat (window) so they can see and then you the taller adult sits next to them on the inside since you can see over them. The 9 year old will love it and so will the 4 year old. The only thing with the 4 year old is that many younger children honestly get sleepy and tend to fall asleep surprisingly! Just the motion and gentle vibration like in the car kind of lulls to doze off or sleep. Just makes for a very expensive nap! We also recommend the West Maui and Molokai for young kids because the helicopter is NOT pressurized and so with this route we only go 3-4k feet where as the flights to Haleakala go close to 10k feet so little ones sometimes have a hard time popping their ears at that elevation. Hope this helps!
I wouldn't. A little too young.
It's an incredible experience your 9 year old will adore. However, your 4 year old may be terrified.
I don't think it would suit the 4yr old. They might get seated in the middle for safety and won't get to see much. I'm not sure how much they would enjoy it, since no one can hear each other with the headphones on.
I think a 4 yo is too young for this trip-it's a little long-and i'm not sure how interesting they would fine this activity. Personally, as another person on the flight, I would not want to be next to a 4 yo.
