Hi, do we need reservations for tea or do you have tables for walk-ins? We have always enjoyed your high tea during the holidays, but have never made a reservation; sometimes we need to wait 2 or more hours, but that is ok. None of the reservation sites show you as completely booked. Any suggestions?
We always get a reservation and while we were there last weekend the wait was 45 minutes for the cafe alone. Not sure about tea. I know they only make a certain number of tea sandwiches, etc so I'd make a reservation. I don't like to leave anything to chance.
I went without a reservation and they sat me in the bar. I would call ahead to avoid dissapointment.
Most Neiman restaurants accept a limited amount of reservations and you have to call them directly. The one in San Francisco is the largest one that I've seen in any Neiman. The weekends are their busiest times but if you're set on going on a weekend, I'd arrive around 11am so that your wait wouldn't be that long. They'll send you a text message so that you can shop or look around until your table is ready. It's still good to check back with the main desk because my text message didn't come through on my mobile phone until the next day. You should have no problem dining there during the weekdays and they're only open during lunch but might have extended hours during the holiday season.
I've never been to the tea, but I would recommend reservations as its always super busy when we go.
