All car services Dial 7, Lyft, Uber are cheaper than a taxi. If you're an NYC person like me - you take the trains. SkyTrain to A train and then the 1 subway which brings you out 2 blocks from hotel. Cost under $10.

Definitely a yellow cab. We paid about $65 for a yellow cab . Had a very bad experience with Uber too.

I took a taxi to JFK (from get-taxi) and it cost me 65 dollars. The hotel has a shuttle but you need to reserve a day earlier

I took a shared taxi which was about 22 $, it takes a bit longer (if you are the last one to be dropped), but as traffic was so heavy (I arrived late Thursday afternoon) I guess a regular taxi wouldn't be much faster.

On my way back from Columbia University I took a taxi to JFK which was 60.50 $, of which 8.50 $ are the fee for crossing the bridge.

Hope this helps

There is a fixed rate for yellow taxis from JFK to anywhere in Manhattan. Something like $52 plus tax and toll charges if they go through tunnel but going over bridges is free. Only necessary to go through tunnel to avoid traffic.

Nope. Sorry. I suggest you compare yellow, Uber, Lyft etc too. Maybe flat rates. Desk clerks may also know.
