When is the best time to go? I'll be there June 8th - a Thursday, I'm coming from the Grand Canyon and hoping to be in Page by around 3PM. Is that a good time for it? Earlier? Later? Thanks in advance!
Opinions are all over the place as to the best time to visit. More often than not, it comes down to convenience. Since it's on your way into town coming from the Grand Canyon, it makes for an easy stop before you hit Page.
Sunset is actually at about 8 PM at that time of year, so at 3:00 PM, the sun may not *quite* be in your eyes, but would get there soon enough. If there's any cloud cover, the angle of the sun would allow the river to reflect the sky to nice effect. I've seen it happen. :)
You may be looking into the sun at that time. Morning - sun is behind you. I've seen some dramatic photos of sunset there. Good luck and enjoy! It's still an amazing sight to see at any hour. Be warned that there are no railings - not for the faint of heart or if you have a fear of heights.
3pm is fine. It will be warm and there is a bit of an uphill hike to get to the viewing area. Bring water and wear a hat. Also... THERE IS NO RAILING ON THE EDGE! If you have little explorers keep a close eye on them.
Anytime is fine but it gets so hot in the afternoon and a lot of walking and hiking will really exhaust you , bring plenty of water with you and comfortable outfit. there are no shades..
As long as you arrive before the sun goes down, it is fine. I was there around 5 or 6pm, I feel it was kinda late, picture looks dark. Morning would be the best time to take pictures.
