Hey, what's the dress code for men? is business casual a shirt and tie thing like in the UK?
We also call it "upscale casual". We basically accept all kinds of dress, except flip flops, hats or shorts. Being in Alaska, we understand that many of our guests are enjoying outdoor activities and excursions before joining us for dinner. Thank you for asking this helpful question!

We had just traveled for 12 hours from the east coast and were in nice casual clothing, jeans and sweaters. No problem at all. Dress in the restaurant ranged from jeans on up to jackets and ties. However, it was mostly smart travel casual.
Most places in Alaska don't have a specific dress code, meaning you will see people in dressy clothes next to people in jeans and flannel. That being said, Crow's Nest does have a more upscale vibe, so best not to wear flip flops - anything else should be fine.
Luckily for you, this is Alaska. Alaskans are a bit more laid-back when it comes to dining out and dress codes. When I visit the crows nest, at the very least I wear a collared shirt. A coat and tie is not required but if that’s what you’re comfortable wearing, it’s appropriate.
You can be safe with a collared shirt (button down) and casual pants
