Hey, I will get to the place by naked bus, then leave after two nights by the bus again, how far away from your place to the bus station? is it within the walking distance?

Well I'm not sure about the bus going all the way to the skotel, I doubt that very much. It will more than likely drop you off at Whakapapa village as outlined in above answer. Best ask at the big store where bus will prob drop you off, where is best place to thumb a lift to Whakapapa. Its not that far, just a few kilometers, will be other people travelling up to the chateau and the skotel for sure, just hold up a sign, be plenty people go there. Thats best advice I can give you, same for return, always backpackers travelling from skotel and chateau. Best advice I can give you...

There is a shuttle service called ROAM that will transport visitors from their hotels within the Whakapapa village area to the Whakapapa ski field. Ask the hotel for these shuttle service.

The naked bus drop-off place is the Whakapapa I-Site Visitor Centre and Skotel is 5-10 minutes walk from the drop-off place.

I had a car but noticed on entering the Visitor Centre that buses stopped outside. From the visitor centre to Skotel is approx 300m walk

Most bus services stop at National Park, which is a little village about 20 minutes drive from Whakapapa. Not sure if there is a shuttle service to Whakapapa. Best to email the hotel and see if they have a service.
