You could see parts of it, but not all. Perhaps drive up to Hurricane Ridge, then drive west to Lake Crescent and the South to the rain forest. Even that would be a long day, and you would miss the Elwah Valley, Solduc and the ocean. Three days is needed to see it we’ll, staying in different locations at night.
Just the driving distances involved in getting to each destination would keep you from visiting all of the places within Olympic National Park in one day. I completely agree with the suggestion that if you only have one day, go to Hurricane Ridge. Beautiful hiking, incredible views. In two days, we visited three locations - Hurricane Ridge, the Hoh Rain Forest, and Ruby Beach. Each was phenomenal, in very different ways. We could easily have spent much more time fully exploring all of these places. I would suggest that you read the "places to go" section of Olympic's website, see what appeals to you the most, go there first, and take it from there.
Hi This National Park cannot be done in one day, it is vast and you will want to see more and more. I would pick what is most interesting to you and go, then plan on going back another time.
Frankly, you can not do this park justice in one day. Firstly, it covers almost the entire Peninsula. Even just hitting the Highlights, Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, The Hoh Rainforest, Lake Ozette and The Beaches at on the coast ...could easily take half a day each, plus travel time between which is extensive. Unless you want to feel incredibly rushed..like hop out take a picture and run...leave yourself time, or select just a few park features that are close by and see them. Many people see Hurricane Ridge in the morning and then got out to Lake Crescent and see the Lodge and Marymere Falls
Yes and no. We hiked the short trails in the Hoh in a few hours. There’s so much beauty to see, we are going back this spring. I was so upset we didn’t schedule more time there.
Yes, but you will have to pick and chose what to see.
It is really an impossible question to answer since it all depends on what one wishes to achieve. For instance if your objective is to see the full range of its features then it can not be done in one day. Of if your objective is to see just the rain forest then the answer is yes, it can be done in one day.
Depends on what you have in mind you could spend a day just about anywhere around the park it's to big to do in one day.
If you only have a day go to Hurricane Ridge, the views are outstanding. If you have more time go to Neah Beach the most Northwestern corner of the United States, there is also an Indian Museum on the Reservation that is interesting. There is so much to see on the Peninsula, please allow time.
we toured this area in about a week, travelling into it at Forks, where we just spent a day doing the Hoh ran forest + lake Quinault, but could have spent a lot longer, next day Port Angeles, then day after Port Townsend for ferry
