The nearest airport is in Fresno, California which is more than an hour away from our RV park in Three Rivers. Unless you are planning to rent an RV, most people drive their RV to our campground. We don't have hotel facilities, but there are several located in Three Rivers.
We currently don't have a dog. There were many dogs there and I stepped in dog poo on the trail to the river (not happy about it) I wouldn't blame them if they don't want that breed of dog there. Campground owners often live on sight and this one also has a mobile home park. Residents often have pet cats and small dogs that are like children to them and they probably wouldn't like them to chased, mauled or killed. Campers also have many little kids on bicycles, they might not like that either. True there are exceptions to every rule, I know someone w/ a very friendly rot. that lives in the house w/ cats and a rabbit, but I also know of a couple that had a pit. they kept it tied in their front yard where it tried to bite their neighbors on the sidewalk. Then they had a baby and put it in the yard in a playpin for the dog to guard. I guess they thought their dog was the exception to the rule too... turns out it wasn't. I hope they're still in jail. The people who run campgrounds have no way to know if your pet really is the exception or not, and people often think their dogs have some sort of right to run free. I am glad they are not allowed on Nat. Park trails.
