Difficult to answer as no idea how many beers! Water is free at the bar and you can safely drink the tap water. I took tea bags and coffee with me so we could have as much as we wanted. I took a big mug too as the cups in the room are tiny!! Beers are about) £2.50 a bottle but there are two happy hours a day when they are 2:1. Free rum punch on Mondays which are lethal. Cocktails about £6 - £7 each (rum ones are cheapest). Supermarket about 10 min walk away but food generally expensive (think Waitrose rather than Asda) Roti shop next door cheap and filling about £5 for more than enough to eat. Expect to pay about £20 per head for dinner plus drinks. Fortunately very warm which curbs the appetite a bit!

We had £700.00 for 2 weeks and we were half board. So mostly drinks and the occasional lunches. This was mostly beers and run punches and a few cocktails. No excursions as I paid for these on credit card.Sounds a lot now, but worth it, we have booked for next year.As it's over Christmas and New Year, personally, I would take a bit more. This year it hardly rained at all, but if it does, it's gone and everywhere is dry in 20 mins.Less humidity Nov-March so good time to go.Have a great time!!

I think if you brought about £1000 you would be fine. You can walk to the market and get a free shuttle back to the hotel. The bar has daily specials and happy hour twice a day,12 and 5 o'clock where beer is two for one and a specialty drink of the day. The local bus service is only two Barbados dollars to ride and they are very frequent about a two minute wait. The bus service is more like van service so only ride the vans with a # 11on the front wind screen they are the official buses. The tap water on the island is perfectly fine to drink Barbados has great water treatment.

Hi, we estimated to take about $100 dollars a day BUT that included everything from food, water, eating out, couple of trips and car hire. We bought from the local supermarket which is not too bad, fruit is quite expensive funny enough (we bought from local street stalls|) steak is cheaper than chicken, and we got talking to a local who showed us to stay away from the well known brands and buy the same as the locals. I had a go at salted fish and dirty rice with a splash of Bajan sauce and it was gorgeous.

Tip - The Bajan sauce is lovely but use sparingly!!

Oistins Fish market is brilliant, all price in Bajan dollars about $35 which equals $17 USA dollars so about £14GBP but worth it.

Most eating places are between £8 - £12 for a main course.

Just Grillin' i highly recommend and there are 2 on the island.

Harlequin on the strip is good, owned by Brits but slightly nore expensive.

We did a trip to Harrison cave, expensive and slightly disappointing.

Car hire - Fat Jacks - 5 days for £300 but i think we got him on a good day.Oh and book that privately not through the hotel.

Turtle & shipwreck tour was $45 per person but i cant say enough about this, have a look at my other eview, i would pay twice that to do it again.

It totally depends how often you want to eat out and what sort of dining you like.

Forgot to add that it is perfectly safe to drink the tap water in Barbados, and at Butterfly Beach there is alwasy a jug of iced water on the bar, and that is free.

Take LOTS of money!! Rooms at Butterfly Beach have a kitchen with fridge etc so we found it cheaper to pop to the big supermarket down the road and stock up with breakfast stuff and snacks, tea and coffee etc. All restaurants in Barbados are expensive, so we use them as treats rather than every day. Weather should be hot and wall to wall sunshine. When it rains, it's over in a short time, but still hot, so has never stopped us swimming! Have a good time!

Food and drinks are well priced. Yes it is hot. Humid. About 32 degrees most days we were there. But very humid. Most days when we were there it rained a little in the afternoon.
