Flying to Mexico City

One of the most densely populated cities in the world as well as the capital of Mexico, Mexico City is a place of great political, financial, and cultural importance and is home to approximately 21 million people.

Serving approximately 25 million passengers each year, Mexico City International Airport (MEX) is the busiest airport in Latin America. While it is a hub for Aeromexico, Inerjet, Mexicana, and Aeromar, carriers American Airlines, LAN Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Aeromexico, and Continental Airlines fly most frequently.

Mexico City has the largest public transportation system in Latin America led by a 207 kilometre metro system, the "Sistema de Transporte Colectivio Metrio." The metro system operated from 5AM until midnight.

The city has many great restaurants at reasonable prices serving up well-seasoned, spicy dishes. Most restaurants will feature a few of the many varieties of indigenous peppers.

Museo Casa Luis Barragan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former home of famous modernist architect Luis Barragán.

Mexico City has plenty of museums. Most are free on Sundays and if they do charge, it will be inexpensive.
