Ten kilometres southwest of Strasbourg is Strasbourg Airport (airport code SXB). A small airport, there are nine carriers that service the area led by Air France and Brussels Airlines. The best method to get to and from the airport is by taxi.

Strasbourg's entire city centre is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage and was the first site in France and the first whole city centre in the world listed by UNESCO.

Le Petite France quarter or "The District on the Waters" is a quaint section of the city. In the 16th and 17th centuries the district was full of millers and tanners. Now, many enjoy the picturesque half-timbered homes.

Architecture in Strasbourg is highlighted by sandstone gothic styling, black and white-timbered structures, and a medieval cityscape feel.

It is fairly easy to navigate Strasbourg by foot, cycle, or tram. However, in an effort to dissuade automobile usage a growing number of streets in the city centre are off limits to cars.
