Lille, France is a culturally active, student filled city near France’s border with Belgium in the north. It used to be an industrial city but is now better known as a university town and tourist destination for its vibrant culture.
Lille is filled with great restaurants including many surrounding the 15th century building the Palais Rihour.
Museum buffs should visit the Musée des Beaux-Arts which is filled with European art from the last 600 years, the Museum of Natural History or the Musée de l’Hospice Comtesse.

Nine carriers operate out of Lille Airport (airport code LIL) including major carriers Air France and Spanair and low cost carriers Ryanair and Vueling. The airport is only about seven kilometres outside of the city. Air France operates the majority of the flights leaving from or arriving at Lille Airport, followed by Ryanair and Royal Air Maroc. The airport is also referred to as Lesquin Airport.
