Flying to Cagliari

The capital city of the Italian province of Sardinia, Cagliari is home to just under 160,000 inhabitants. It is a great beach destination but offers plenty to do as an alternative to the sea and after the sun goes down.

Most people go to Cagliari to enjoy the beach, and busses leaving from the city are an excellent way to reach the shores. Poetto Beach is a very popular beach.

Old Cagliari has a great variety of excellent restaurants. After dinner, great shopping can be found in Largo Carlo Felice, Via Roma, around Via Paoli, and a few other streets.

The Cagliari-Elmas Airport (airport code CAG), the main airport for Cagliari in Sardinia, serves only 15 airlines but sees over 3.3 million passengers each year. With the exception of Alitalia and British Airways, all of the carriers serving Cagliari-Elmas Airport are either regional or low cost carriers.

Ryanair provides services to most destinations, including Brussels and most major cities in Italy . Most of the flights leaving Cagliari-Elmas Airport are to destinations around Italy, but a few flights do leave to other European countries via cities like Paris, London, Brussels, Geneva and Munich .

Bus services are provided by Azienda Regional Transportation between Calgiari and Calgiari-Elmas Airport. Routes depart about every hour and more frequently during high traffic periods.
