Gettysburg - the new museum is scheduled to be completed in 2008- we will return then. After having been to a long list of national parks all over the country - I was surprised at the condition of this museum. The grounds and attractions are wonderful - it would have been nice to spend 3 or 4 days here- especally if you'd like to walk, bike, or rollerblade the battlfields, but the museum provided very little in the way of guidance regarding how to take in all there is to see and understand about grounds themselves and the historical context. If you love to look at old weapons- great place to go- if you want an organized, up-to-date, interactive, directive, insightful, relevant presentation with human-interest - wait til 2008. This museum is not child friendly and makes no effort to engage or excite young minds to consider the real-life side of living through the civil war or to recognize the enormous human sacrifice that was made here and how it directly effects the lives we lead in America today.
