I love to travel. I am not happy unless I am planning a new adventure, returning to a beloved city, or blazing a trail to somewhere I have never been before. My favorite places in the world are London, New Orleans, Disneyland, and Salem, Massachusetts. I also love to write about everything and anything to do with travel. Fern Gully is a stretch of road in Ocho Rios that is surrounded by luscious ferns and tropical flowers. Visitors generally drive through the area, often without even stopping, merely slowing down for photographs.
Dolphin Cove is a wonderful place where you can interact with dolphins in their natural habitat. You could easily spend the entire afternoon here, but pick and choose activities if you are on a schedule.
Scotchie's restaurant in Ocho Rios is famous for its Jerk Chicken and Pork. This is one of the most recommended casual eateries, and it is easy to see why! The prices are low, and the marinated, rubbed meats are absolutely delicious!
Dunn's River Falls is one of the most well known attractions in Ocho Rios, with visitors taking day trips and tours from all over Jamaica to witness its majesty! The falls cascade down 600 feet into a pool, and you can climb the rocks, which form steps, into the waterfall.
This Bobsled experience has to be one of the most unique things you will ever do on your travels, so it is definitely a must! You will be strapped into a specially designed sled, and then gravity will pull you down over 100 meters of track.
The Rainforest Zip Line thrills guests with seven platforms, six zip lines, a suspension bridge, and a rappel. The Rainforest Sky Explorer, a type of chair lift, will also shuttle guests to the top of the mountain or to the entrance.
The Turtle River Falls and Gardens, formerly called the Enchanted Gardens, is 15 acres of luscious beauty. With 14 waterfalls, a koi pond, a swimming pool, and a bird aviary, it offers a nice, relaxing escape.
Evita's is a fine dining establishment that blends an Italian menu with exciting Jamaican recipes. You can sit outdoors, or dine inside the 1860s gingerbread style building.
The Harmony Hall Art Gallery showcases local, Jamaican art. It is a nice place to browse, and should you make any purchases, shipping can be arranged.
Mahogany Beach is a small, white sand beach that is protected by a reef, so the waters are calm and clear. Water sports equipment is available for rent.
The Island Village hosts a large shopping area, with the ambiance and architecture of a Jamaican village. Expect about 35 stores, with clothing, books, souvenirs, and more.
Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is a great place to go for a drink or for a full meal. It can be very crowded, and it is definitely infused with a party atmosphere.
