The market is a great place to start taking in Barcelona.
Have your first tapas experience, enjoy, everything tastes as great as it looks.
Very beautifull park, in walking distance of Born area and olympic port.
Don't miss a view of the sea on your first day in Barcelona.
Keep strolling down the barceloneta beach before taking in some more tapas.
An authentic tapas bar in the fishing quarter. This will definitely be a different experience then kiosko universal.
Very friendly owners won't hesitate to give you some extra travel tips.
The B&B is situated in a happening neighbourhood in the evening,
Start the day with yet another stroll. Down a fancy street with fancy shops and some of the most quirky buildings.
A great example of Gaudi's work. Visit Battlo to learn more about Gaudi and appreciate the details.
Even if you don't go in, you can still appreciate the architecture from the outside.
Another authentic tapas experience, this has limit opening times, but it's worth to plan La Cova Fumada in your trip.
What's not to love? Great views of the city, a breath of fresh air and yes, Gaudi at work again.
Finish the (Gaudi) day with a bike tour along the coast.
This is more of a hip and happening place then a foodie experience and gets mixed reviews, but we had a great time at Shoko.
You can't really appreciate the full beaty of this place from the outside, so buy that ticket and explore inside.
Walk around in the old area of town (also see under ciutat vella).
A great sandwich place by the old area perfect for a quick lunch.
I'm not sure where to Gothic area ends and the Ciutat Vella begins :), but definitely walk around here and don't miss placa de sant jaume, carrer del bisbe, catedral la seu and placa del rei.
After that sandwich there is sure enough room for some very fancy and very tasty desert. It's a stop on the hike from the old town to the born area.
Great views of the city, I suggest hiking from the montjuic castle to the placa espanya (it's downhill, so not too hard).
I think the surroundings here are just so beautifull.
Walking from the palau nacional to the placa espanya really gives you the chance to soak in the atmosphere.
A true luxury, with a pool on top! Relax after a active day.
Make your own salad for a healthy kick. You can choose your own ingredients.
What a better way to say goodbye to Barcelona then enjoying the magic of the fountains between the placa espanya (which now you've seen at daytime and in the evening) and the palau nacional.
